Job summary

Inductive Automation is seeking a Senior System Administrator to design, implement, and support our IT infrastructure. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability across Linux, Windows, and MacOS environments.

The role requires 4–7 years of IT experience with strong virtualization, containers, and IaC skills, and offers on-site and hybrid opportunities in California. You will mentor junior admins and help maintain documentation and policies.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of IT (system, network, or database administration) experience.
• Proficiency with Linux, Windows, or MacOS.
• Experience with configuration management tools (Intune, JAMF, Ansible, etc).
• Familiarity with virtualization and containers (VMware, Proxmox, Kubernetes, Docker, etc).
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-code (IaC) such as Terraform.
• Knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain and support IT infrastructure.
• Administering, installing, and troubleshooting operating systems.
• Schedule, install, and test system software upgrades.
• Configure software and resolve technical problems.
• Monitor system performance and ensure reliability of critical services.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls per security policies.
• Develop and maintain documentation for configurations and processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for application deployment and troubleshooting.
• Provide mentorship to junior system administrators.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.
