Job summary

Stored Energy Systems (SENS) in Longmont, CO seeks a Senior Systems Engineer with a strong product compliance focus to translate customer, regulatory, and internal needs into clear system requirements and verification plans.

You will lead design reviews across hardware, firmware/software, and documentation, coordinating with certification agencies to ensure reliable, certifiable, and manufacturable products from concept through production launch.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, systems engineering or closely related field.
• 5+ years in systems engineering, product engineering, regulatory compliance, or certification for hardware-based products.
• Experience delivering hardware-based products to market.
• Strong understanding of AC/DC power circuits, wiring and terminations, and power supplies.
• Experience translating needs into requirements, specs, design inputs, and verification plans.
• Familiarity with safety, EMC, performance, and environmental standards for industrial electrical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Translate high-level product needs into system-level specifications and verification criteria.
• Develop and maintain validation and compliance test matrices for products and platforms.
• Identify risks early and help develop mitigation plans to reduce schedule, cost, and quality risks.
• Apply relevant safety, EMC, performance and environmental standards to product designs.
• Provide compliance design requirements including creepage/clearance, hipot, and enclosure requirements.
• Coordinate submittals, testing, and reports with UL, ABS, CE, and other agencies.
• Perform compliance assessments and document CE marking, RoHS, REACH obligations.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, design elements, and verification activities.
• Support system architecture across hardware, software, and interfaces.
