Job summary

Inter Continental Exchange in Atlanta, GA, seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to design and maintain high-availability Linux/Windows environments, supporting production and non-production systems.

You will automate tasks, mentor staff, participate in on-call rotations, and collaborate across teams to ensure reliability and security. This role offers growth in infrastructure decisions and applying AI tooling to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or equivalent experience in Systems Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience with Linux operating systems (RedHat preferred).
• Experience with automation/configuration management (Puppet, Ansible, Chef, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with Git, Foreman, Jenkins, or equivalent tooling.
• Knowledge of multi-tiered, highly available, and resilient design.
• Scaling knowledge for performance and high availability.
• Ability to specify hardware requirements and recommendations.
• Experience leveraging AI tooling to improve work quality and efficiency.
• Understanding of core system security and hardening concepts.
• Strong analytics and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a service-oriented team environment.
• Excellent project management, organization, and time management.

• Effective communication with technical and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and implement server solutions for maximum performance and reliability.
• Automate manual tasks using scripting and application development.
• Investigate and adopt new technologies/tools as needs arise.
• Respond to and assist in production operations in a 24/7 environment.
• Collaborate with developers, operations staff, and release engineers.
• Lead infrastructure initiatives including patching, upgrades, and decommissions.
• Provide technical analysis, resolve problems, and propose solutions.
• Educate and mentor team members and operations staff.
• Participate in a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours support.
