Outcold Solutions LLC. is seeking an experienced software engineer to join a small, independent team working across the Collectord agent, Splunk apps, services, and customer-read dashboards.

The role emphasizes systems engineering across Linux/Windows, with focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability. You will design and implement in Go, work near the OS, and contribute to UI via JavaScript/TypeScript while documenting and sharing knowledge through release notes and demos.

Formación

• Proven track record shipping and operating production software.
• Fluency in Go or deep experience in Rust, C, or C++ and willing to work in Go.
• Working understanding of Linux internals: processes, cgroups, namespaces, filesystems, signals, networking.
• Hands-on experience running Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Docker in production.
• Comfort with SQL and embedded/analytical databases.
• Experience with Splunk or similar log/metrics platforms: indexing, searching, visualization.
• Enough JavaScript to build a modest web interface without a large framework.
• Clear written communication; will write documentation extensively.
• Habit of measuring before deciding and proving changes with tests.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain Collectord in Go: log tailing, metrics, Kubernetes watchers, pipelines to Splunk/Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
• Work close to the OS on Linux and Windows: containers, filesystems, process and cgroup accounting, cross-platform behaviors.
• Build and extend Splunk apps: dashboards, alerts, custom search commands, React pages.
• Work with data at rest: embedded SQLite, Athena over telemetry, Splunk indexes.
• Write JavaScript/TypeScript for UI needs, keeping it lightweight.
• Write docs, release notes, and blog posts; record screencasts and demos.
• Assist customers: reproduce environments, answer support requests, fix root causes, participate in on-call rotation.
• Represent the company at conferences a few times a year.
