Job summary

MITRE is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency’s FMS CDS program. You will guide complex system-of-systems integration, requirements, and verification across U.S. and partner domains.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, strong cross-domain collaboration, and an active Secret clearance with eligibility for Top Secret/SCI. On-site work four days a week is required, with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, modeling and simulation, software engineering, computer science, or related disciplines.
• Experience collaborating with interagency government, contractor, and vendor teams on complex system of systems.
• Experience eliciting requirements, design and development, and test/evaluation of C4I systems.
• Experience leading and managing FMS cases between US and Foreign Partners leadership.
• Must have an active Secret clearance and eligible for Top Secret/SCI clearance; 4 days on-site per week.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee technical systems engineering tasks such as integration, testing, and V&V as a trusted advisor to the product team.
• Inform development, test evaluation, and integration of data distribution enterprises and concepts of operations for C4I.
• Build partnerships across MITRE, industry, and government programs.
• Develop technical reports and presentations on analysis results and recommendations.
• Present technical recommendations to government sponsors for acquisition strategy.
• Brief leadership on FMS CDS technology, architecture, and policy to explore integration needs.
• Lead IER Working Groups with CCMDs and Foreign Partners on data flows and formats for CDS integration.
• Provide SME engineering support on RFP development and serve as a technical advisor during sourcing.
