Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the Athena Control Systems Team in designing and developing safety-critical aerospace and defense systems. The role involves leading design reviews, integration and verification, and coordinating across teams to meet demanding milestones.

The ideal candidate has a STEM background, experience with MATLAB for software-in-the-loop testing, target hardware-in-the-loop, and DO-178B/C style processes.

Qualifications

• Aerospace domain knowledge and vehicle control experience.
• Experience with requirements-based development and requirements management tools.
• Experience with development tool chains (Jira, Subversion/Git).
• Science/Engineering STEM degree with multiple years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in design and program reviews to ensure milestones are met and schedules tracked.
• Write integration and test plans; conduct integration and verification testing for safe, high-quality solutions.
• Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams through bid and planning processes.
• Manage multiple programs simultaneously and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Support verification, traceability of system requirements, and peer reviews of test procedures.
