Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a software applications developer to support business operations at multiple sites. You will develop data-collection and analysis tools, improve end-user experiences, and ensure data integrity across critical systems.

You will troubleshoot issues, review code, and document plans while collaborating with teams and safeguarding security. A background in engineering and software development is required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Engineering discipline.
• Project Management certification is a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in software development.
• Proficient in object oriented programming languages.
• Experience in back-end application development.
• Experience working in Windows, Linux, and Unix environments.
• Strong interest and experience in automation and software intelligence.
• Experience with maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting large scale enterprise systems.
• Comfortable reviewing and debugging another person’s code.
• Motivated to improve existing processes through innovation and creative problem solving.
• Works well both independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working with source code repositories (SVN, Git, etc.).
• Web development experience is a plus but not required.
• Previous semiconductor experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop applications used for collecting data for analysis, monitoring, and process improvement on critical operations or monitoring of application performance and data integrity.
• Continuously improve user end experience and data processing efficiency.
• Troubleshoot user-reported system issues and support requests for improvements or data gaps.
• Identify external system dependencies when developing solutions.
• Trace and understand existing source code written by previous developers.
• Document development, testing, and release plans prior to implementation and review peers’ work.
• Handle complex assignments requiring in-depth evaluation of system data structures and interfaces.
• Administer system service policies to maintain security and data integrity.
• Manage and maintain system hardware and software.
• Advise on data sharing or system interfaces across teams as priorities shift.
• Regularly revise SOPs to capture detailed processes for future reference.
• Collaborate with teams to understand equipment/process implications for data solutions.
