Samsung Austin Semiconductor seeks a Senior Data Engineer to architect and optimize its data ecosystem in a 24/7 manufacturing setting. You will design scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, ensure data quality, and partner with data scientists to drive business insights across the factory.

Qualifications

• Education: BS or MS in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or related STEM/Engineering degree.
• Experience: 5+ years relevant experience.
• Semiconductor industry highly preferred but not required
• Expert SQL Proficiency: Mastery of SQL for handling high-volume data, complex aggregations, and performance tuning within on-premise data stores.
• Database Architecture: Designing and modifying database schemas with normalization, data types, and relational integrity.
• Data Visualization: Building interactive dashboards (Tibco Spotfire, Tableau, or similar).
• Python Development: Troubleshooting, optimizing, and extending Python data workflows.
• Analytical Problem Solving: Root-cause analysis and attention to detail in debugging data discrepancies.
• Communication Excellence: Translating technical challenges into business terms for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Architect High-Volume Pipelines: Design, build, and monitor ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting massive data streams from diverse sources.
• Engineer Data Quality: Implement data cleaning, augmentation, and normalization workflows.
• Collaborate on Data Strategy: Identify data gaps and integrate new sources to expand decision-making capabilities.
• Develop Visual Intelligence: Create high-performance dashboards and key metrics as single source of truth.
• Drive End-to-End Impact: Lead data initiatives from concept through deployment delivering business value.
• Elevate Technical Standards: Mentor junior team members in best practices and documentation.
