Job summary

Sonova USA, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineer, Systems - Embedded Electronics in California. The role focuses on understanding system requirements, architecting solutions, and guiding feasibility studies through integration and verification for medical devices.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in analog/digital circuits, FPGA platforms, embedded systems, DSP, RF, and hands-on hardware debugging with real-time embedded code. Collaboration with multiple teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Biomedical Engineering required.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in analog and digital circuits, FPGA platforms, embedded systems, DSP, RF, control systems, or integrated circuits.
• Experience with Class III medical device standards (IEC 60801 and related requirements) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Guide requirements with Marketing, PM and R&D to generate product specs.
• Drive system-level tradeoffs during development considering features, schedules, and cost.
• Perform feasibility studies and model/implement proposals with suitable techniques.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Firmware, Software and Mechanical teams during development and integration.
• Define architectures for future products with solid market understanding.
• Document work clearly to educate others and share knowledge.
