Job summary

Advanced Bionics, a Sonova Group company, is seeking a Senior Engineer, Systems – Embedded Electronics in Valencia, CA. You will develop system requirements and architectures for cochlear implant systems, guiding them through integration, verification, and manufacturing transfer.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate across disciplines, and focus on embedded electronics performance, reliability, and post-market support. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• Requires a BS in Electrical/Electronics/Biomedical Engineering or related field.
• Five+ years of engineering experience with a bachelor's, or three+ years with a master's.
• Strong background in embedded-electronics, ASICs/ICs, and system reliability; familiarity with RF, DSP, control systems.

Responsibilities

• Define product requirements and technical specifications with cross-functional teams.
• Develop system and subsystem architectures for embedded electronics products.
• Lead trade-off analyses across ICs, electrical, mechanical, power, and cost factors.
• Conduct feasibility studies for new products, subsystems, components, algorithms.
• Evaluate components and technical solutions; prototype and implement with appropriate tools.
• Collaborate across electrical, RF, IC, firmware, software, and mechanical teams.
• Support products through development, verification, manufacturing transfer, and sustaining engineering.
• Perform root-cause analysis on field issues and drive corrective actions.
• Define architectures for future products with R&D and market needs.
• Provide technical leadership in hardware-software integration and risk mitigation.
