Job summary

Sonova in Valencia, CA, is seeking a Senior Engineer, Systems - Embedded Electronics. The role focuses on system-level requirements, architecture, feasibility studies, testing, verification, and sustaining engineering across product lifecycles.

The candidate will work with Marketing, PM and R&D, guiding specifications and tradeoffs. Strong collaboration across hardware, firmware, software and mechanical teams is essential, with 3–5+ years in relevant areas and medical device exposure a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Biomedical Engineering is required; Master’s or PhD is preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in analog/digital circuits, FPGA, embedded systems, DSP, RF or ICs; medical device experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Guide requirements with Marketing/PM/R&D and generate product specifications.
• Drive tradeoff analysis across features, schedules, cost, complexity and risk.
• Conduct feasibility studies and propose suitable components and algorithms.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Firmware, Software and Mechanical teams during development and integration.
• Define architectures for future products with R&D and market needs.
• Develop broad product understanding and specialize in technical segments.
• Investigate field product issues and perform root-cause experiments.
