Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a systems engineer for an onsite Cedar Rapids role focused on Precision Approach and Landing equipment. You will perform hands-on lab testing, analyze mechanical drawings, and help translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

You will debug RTOS software, participate in system-level analyses, and collaborate across teams on design, verification, risk, and integration efforts to ensure successful program outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Experience troubleshooting lab failures and analyzing test results.
• Knowledge of GPS testing and radio transceiver architecture/design.
• Experience with high-assurance documentation and verification activities.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specs.

Responsibilities

• Be involved in the design of brand-new Precision Approach and Landing equipment.
• Perform hands-on testing in a lab environment.
• Create, analyze, and review mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Debug Real Time Operating System Software.
• Support system-level analyses across concept, design, fabrication, testing, and deployment.
• Assist with configuration management, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver on schedule.
