Job summary

Atlas Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in North Charleston, SC. This onsite role requires relocation if outside the Charleston market.

You will engineer, secure, and manage enterprise Windows and Linux systems, VMware, VDI, AD/GPOs, and automation to support DoD/C4I environments. The ideal candidate has DoD security clearances, DoD 8570/IAT qualifications, 10+ years in C4I, and strong DevSecOps and scripting skills.

Qualifications

• DoD Secret Level security clearance with current SSBI/T5; TS/SCI desired.
• DoD 8140/8570 Certifications to be qualified as Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II (e.g., Security+).
• 10+ years of experience with C4I systems, focusing on systems engineering and cybersecurity support.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience supporting Navy C4I environments.
• VMware, Microsoft, or Linux enterprise certifications.
• Experience in classified environments with privileged access.
• IaC tooling such as Terraform or Ansible for infrastructure automation.
• Strong DevSecOps understanding.
• Scripting/programming: Python, Bash, PowerShell.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and automation platforms.
• Familiarity with containerization and cloud security.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with Navy cloud and automation platforms.
• Git repository management.
• Knowledge of FRCB deployment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, administer, and secure enterprise Windows and RHEL systems.
• Maintain and enforce baseline configurations.
• Administer and optimize VMware vSphere/ESXi/vCenter.
• Support VDI infrastructure.
• Manage Active Directory and GPOs.
• Develop automation using PowerShell, Bash/Linux, Ansible.
• Lead vulnerability remediation efforts to closure.
• Implement and manage endpoint security solutions (Trellix/HBSS/ESS).
• Support RMF activities: control validation, POA&M development, continuous monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with DISA STIGs and DoD policies.
• Provide limited support for Brocade switches (firmware/baselines).
• Troubleshoot systems in lab and production environments.
• Participate in technical reviews, change management, and engineering boards.
• Produce and review implementation plans, test results, and reports.
• Coordinate and knowledge-share within a multi-disciplinary team.
