Job summary

Safran Federal Systems is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to own the development of a new product line from a blank page, iterating designs and validating prototypes for eventual hardened solutions.

You will lead R&D for NAVWAR, EW, PNT/GNSS simulation, and related technologies, defining system requirements and managing verification to ensure compliance, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and supporting customer engagements from our Rochester, NY office.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering or related field.
• Active security clearance preferred or willingness to obtain one.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, MATLAB; strong technical writing.
• Experience with DoD security requirements and Tempest design considerations.
• Experience with GNSS, EW/NAVWAR concepts, and PNT systems.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Strong collaboration and communication with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage system requirements across lifecycle.
• Lead system design reviews, risk analysis, and technical assessments.
• Create and maintain documentation for design, verification and validation.
• Provide technical guidance to project teams and customers.
• Analyze data to verify and validate system performance.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide on-site technical expertise and support to deployments.
• Collaborate on proposals, whitepapers, and presentations.
