Job summary

VTG in the United States is seeking a Systems Engineer to act as a technical authority across network, compute, storage, OS, middleware, databases, and applications. You will analyze existing environments, develop detailed engineering designs, and drive modernization initiatives.

The role requires hands-on delivery, collaboration with System and Cloud Architects, and the ability to translate complex technical issues into business impact for leadership.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Typically requires BS degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Hands-on systems engineering across networking, compute, storage, operating systems, middleware, databases, and applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on systems engineering across network, compute, storage, operating systems, middleware, databases, and applications.
• Analyze and document current-state (as-is) infrastructure, platform, and application architectures.
• Develop detailed engineering designs for modernization, optimization, and transformation initiatives in collaboration with System and Cloud Architects.
• Lead and execute cloud and system implementations, migrations, and upgrades.
• Ensure systems meet established requirements for availability, scalability, performance, security, and compliance.
• Integrate infrastructure and platform environments with DevOps and DevSecOps pipelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex, cross-stack issues spanning infrastructure, platforms, and applications.
• Serve as a technical authority for complex system issues and provide guidance throughout investigation and resolution.
• Collaborate across multiple engineering teams, technical organizations, and stakeholders to identify, address, and complete system issues.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, architecture and engineering diagrams, standards, and associated technical documents.
• Brief leadership on system architecture, engineering challenges, risks, and technical issues.
• Translate complex technical issues into clear business and operational impacts for leadership and stakeholders.
