Job summary

Delta Dental Ins. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to deliver day‑to‑day technical support and infrastructure services in Oakland, CA. The role focuses on deploying and supporting end‑user devices, assisting with network administration, and basic Microsoft Azure administration.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with server systems across hardware/software implementations.
• Experience with requirements analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of multiple servers.
• Experience in projects as part of technical teams or leading production/test rollouts.
• Desktop & End User Support: Windows 11 admin, hardware, M365 admin, AD, device deployment, remote tools.
• Networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, switches, wireless, firewall basics, diagnostics.
• Azure / Cloud: Azure admin, Entra ID, Azure networking, VMs, cloud IAM, M365 cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Performs non‑emergency maintenance and upgrades during non‑business hours or as coordinated.
• Provides 24x7 on‑call production support; triage and root cause analysis.
• Performs Capacity and Performance management.
• Admins servers, monitors performance, audits logs, backups, security, and automation.
• Participates in site/network upgrades and end-user support efforts.
• End User Computing & Desktop Support: onsite/remote support for devices, troubleshoot, Windows 11, M365 support.
• Networking: troubleshoot LAN/WAN/Wi‑Fi/VPN, configure switches/routers, monitor performance.
• Azure & Cloud: Azure administration, Entra ID, Azure networking, cloud services, monitoring.
