Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the integration of autonomous platform sensors and compute. You will own system-level strategy, write and maintain requirements, and drive architecture reviews to ensure safety, reliability, and performance across embedded platforms.

You will collaborate with hardware, software, and verification teams, mentor junior engineers, and help evolve systems engineering practices in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of systems engineering experience on safety-critical systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in embedded/real-time OS and containerization.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams.
• Experience authoring and maintaining system/software requirements and interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering for core AV platform capabilities from requirements through integration and validation.
• Own system and subsystem-level strategy; influence platform-wide decisions.
• Author and maintain requirements, interface definitions, and technical specifications with traceability.
• Lead system and architecture reviews ensuring functional, performance, and reliability requirements.
