Job summary

General Motors seeks a Principal Software Engineer to shape and scale embedded software platforms for software-defined vehicles. You will lead cross-team architecture, connect software, tooling, test, and release activities, and drive modernization of large-scale test systems.

You will mentor teams, drive standardized automated testing, and deliver measurable improvements in engineering effectiveness and product quality across multiple sites in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 15+ years validating software systems and leading architecture across organizations.
• Deep understanding of real-time software architecture.
• Experience shipping safety-critical products.
• Experience with large-scale CI/CD, embedded test automation, and build-to-test pipelines.
• Expertise in variation management, change-impact analysis, and risk-based regression testing.
• Experience with test-result data modeling, Databricks, analytics, data mining, and API development.
• Proficiency with embedded systems, Linux, Git, Python, Bash, Robot Framework, containers, and infrastructure as code.
• Ability to integrate automated diagnostics and issue-management workflows.
