Job summary

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer for the APNT Solutions team in Cedar Rapids. The role focuses on architecting, designing, and delivering real-time embedded navigation and timing systems for military platforms.

You will lead project execution, collaborate with IPTs, participate in Agile ceremonies, and drive requirements verification while mentoring teams and shaping top-level system designs.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and 8+ years of experience OR an advanced degree with 5+ years.
• Must be able to obtain DoD security clearance.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Provide project execution management including detailed planning and cost accounting.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and act as a product owner.
• Collaborate with IPTs on program goals.
• Provide status communication to stakeholders.
• Support verification and traceability of system requirements.
• Support peer reviews on test procedures and design docs.
• Own design approach development with SMEs.
• Help resolve technical issues across teams.
• Share lessons learned to improve approaches.
