Job summary

Supernal, LLC seeks a seasoned System Engineering & Integration Engineer to ensure alignment of engineering execution, system architecture, and certification activities with FAA standards across the aircraft development lifecycle.

The role oversees vehicle-level consistency, ARP4754A/ARP4761A processes, DAL levels, and certification milestones, acting as the integration focal point to support safety, performance, and compliance objectives. On-site at Irvine, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace, electrical, mechanical engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 10–15 years of experience in aircraft systems engineering and integration.
• Strong knowledge of SAE ARP4754A and ARP4761.
• Extensive knowledge of Design Assurance Levels (DAL A–E), DO-178C and DO-254 in certified aircraft programs.
• Solid understanding of FAA certification frameworks, including 14 CFR Part 21.
• Experience supporting certification programs and engaging with regulatory authorities.
• Experience with requirements management and configuration control tools (e.g., DOORS, 3DX).
• Familiarity with MBSE methodologies and modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Review and ensure alignment with FAA-recognized development standards (ARP4754A/ARP4761A/DO-178C/DO-254).
• Identify gaps between processes and FAA-compliant systems frameworks; define enhancements for certification readiness.
• Lead transfer of engineering systems and certification governance.
• Review system architectures and major decisions from integration, safety, and certification perspectives.
• Ensure vehicle-level sizing, margins, and safety budgets align with objectives.
• Evaluate trade studies and interface definitions for performance and compliance.
• Monitor cross-functional interfaces to maintain configuration coherence.
• Develop SEMP/SEP and provide certification-related reviews at milestones.
• Escalate deviations or risks to leadership when needed.
