• Apply V-Model systems engineering principles throughout product development.
• Develop and execute verification and validation (V&V) test plans.
• Perform Test Method Validation (TMV) and test method development.
• Conduct Design of Experiments (DoE) and analyze engineering test results.
• Develop test beds and perform hands-on testing of electromechanical devices.
• Analyze digital sensor outputs using Python.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and system-level performance issues.
• Develop and maintain engineering requirements and supporting documentation.
• Support requirements traceability, risk management, and configuration management.
• Participate in design reviews and evaluate system performance against specifications.
• Track, document, and report engineering defects to development partners.
• Prepare technical reports summarizing testing results and engineering findings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and quality teams.

Employment Type: W2 Contract – 12 Months with Possibility for Extensions

Pay Rate: $50.00–$60.00/hour – Based on experience (Paid Weekly)

Role Overview

BEPC is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to support our client's development and testing of complex electromechanical devices in Tucson, AZ.

The ideal candidate will have 8 years of engineering experience, with strong expertise in systems engineering, verification and validation (V&V), test method development, and hands-on troubleshooting.

This role involves applying V-Model systems engineering principles, analyzing sensor data using Python, developing testing protocols, and ensuring systems meet design specifications and applicable regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical, Chemical, Biomedical, Software, or a related discipline.
• 8 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with electromechanical devices or complex instrumentation.
• Strong understanding of V-Model systems engineering.
• Experience with verification and validation (V&V).
• Experience with Test Method Validation (TMV) and test method development.
• Knowledge of Design of Experiments (DoE).
• Python programming skills for engineering data analysis.
• Experience developing test beds and executing testing protocols.
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with requirements management, defect tracking, and technical documentation.
• Ability to work 100% onsite in Tucson, AZ.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the medical device industry.
• Experience working in FDA- or FAA-regulated environments.
• Knowledge of ISO, IEC, FDA, and EU regulatory standards.
• Experience translating regulatory requirements into clear, testable engineering specifications.
• Experience developing hardware, software, and system-level requirements.
• Experience maintaining bidirectional requirements traceability.
• Familiarity with RETINA, IBM DOORS, or Jira.
• Experience with assay-based systems or diagnostic instrumentation.
