Job summary

Envision Technology seeks a senior algorithms engineer to develop image processing, ML/AI for multi-modal sensors, and embedded data processing for man-portable systems.

You will collaborate with embedded software teams, contribute to design and testing, and translate complex findings for stakeholders. Travel within the US may be required; U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or Imaging Science with 10+ years in algorithms for controls/image processing in embedded systems.
• Experience with imaging/target location and unmanned systems is required.
• Hands-on system integration and testing experience is required.
• MATLAB or equivalent is required; familiarity with Kalman filters is expected.
• Statistical modeling of errors is strongly desired.

Position Summary

In this role, you are responsible for developing algorithms to process, fuse and manipulate various sensor data and partnering with embedded software developers to integrate into man-portable battery powered systems.

• Design, test, and deploy image processing, computer vision, machine learning, artificial intelligence and/or control algorithms which utilize multi-modal sensor inputs to include imagers, IMUs and off product intelligence.
• Develop unique algorithmic methods that make Soldier systems smarter and more intuitive.
• Interface with software engineers by providing adequate requirements and design documentation to realize algorithms in embedded architectures.
• Identify risks and critical path, providing and executing mitigation plans to achieve program objectives.
• Communicate status of program internally to management/technical stakeholders and report per program requirements externally to the customer.
• Data collection, processing and analysis required.
• Ability to communicate complex technical findings clearly to developers, system leads, and customers.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or Imaging Science, with 10+ years of experience developing algorithms for controls, image processing or data filtering for embedded systems.
• Experience with imaging systems, target location systems and/or unmanned systems required.
• Hands-on experience with system integration and testing required.
• Creative thinker with outstanding problem-solving skills during creation, planning, and execution.
• Proactive data analysis skills required to evaluate metrics to provide solutions.
• Experience with MATLAB or equivalent required.
• Experience with embedded software is a plus.
• Experience with common filters (e.g. Kalman) is required.
• Experience with statistical modeling of errors is strongly desired.
