Job summary

KIHOMAC, Inc in Layton, UT is seeking engineers with MBSE skills and a strong background in systems integration and DoD design reviews. You will perform technical analysis and lead reviews while mentoring junior staff, reporting to senior engineers and ensuring compliance with test plans.

Qualifications include ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) and 5+ years of relevant experience, with familiarity in Cameo and Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited institution in relevant engineering or science discipline is required.
• Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
• 5+ years of professional experience in the required task area.
• Experience with systems integration, structural analysis and/or Python is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical reviews and meetings, internal and external.
• Mentor less experienced engineers.

Job description

Expertise and Functions

• Perform technical analysis related to systems design and development
• Conduct tasks associated with systems engineering life cycle and the DoD design review process
• Utilize model-based systems engineering (MBSE) techniques
• Support systems analysis (e.g., discrete event simulation) with simulation techniques
• Follow, perform, and record the results of the execution of a test plan
• Exercise judgment to make recommendations on technical alternatives, component design or selection, and/or adaptation to meet assigned requirements
• Proficient in technical writing including white papers, customer deliverable documents, etc.
• Collaborate with leadership at all levels
• Lead technical reviews and meetings, internal and external
• Perform duties under supervision of staff and chief engineers
• Mentor less experienced engineers
• Other duties as assigned

Education/Training

• Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited institution in relevant engineering or science discipline required
• Master's Degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience in the required task area
• Familiarity with a range of systems engineering tools - Cameo experience preferred
• Background in developing and/or testing aircraft and/or military components preferred
• Experience with systems integration, structural analysis and/or Python preferred

Security

• Must be a US citizen
• Ability to obtain a security clearance may be required

Physical Requirements

• Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
• Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
• Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
• Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time

Salary

The projected salary range for this position is $8,000 - $105,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation, rather actual salary will be based on experience, qualifications, and applicable certifications or degrees held. Offered salary may fall outside of this range.
