Job summary

KIHOMAC, Inc is looking for a Systems Engineer located in Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of experience, particularly in the DoD sector, and will have a strong focus on systems engineering and technical analysis. Responsibilities will include conducting engineering reviews, preparing technical documentation, and providing support across all phases of program lifecycle.

Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor’s degree and experience with Agile development methodologies. A competitive salary range of $114,000 - $134,000 is offered, based on experience and qualifications.

Job description

Expertise and Functions
  • Conduct systems engineering and program reviews to evaluate alternative plans, technical baselines, design efforts, and system-level test results to ensure subsystem and system performance meets approved program specifications
  • Prepare technical documentation, management reports, and technical presentations supporting planning, implementation, and corrective actions
  • Perform system validation activities, including development of criteria and procedures, and analyze results of major engineering systems
  • Provide systems engineering support across acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, deployment/fielding, installation, and operations oversight activities
  • Provide engineering support to program and project risk management activities in compliance with Air Force Systems Engineering Assessment Model (SEAM) processes
  • Conduct engineering trade studies and technical analyses involving system performance, effectiveness, cost, lifecycle cost, reliability, maintainability, risk, and schedule
  • Support proposal evaluations, technical studies, audits, analyses, and engineering IPT activities to assess technical feasibility, compatibility and cost effectiveness
  • Review and analyze Air Force requirements and acquisition documentation including SRDs, ICDs, CDDs, CPDs, CONOPs, AoAs, Technology Development Strategies, FCAs, and PCAs
  • Support implementation and maintenance of system requirements within DOORS and Launchpad applications across branch systems
  • Support technical engineering reviews, meetings and briefings with Government and Contractor personnel
  • Review and analyze system concepts, requirements baselines and software integration activities in collaboration with Government and prime contractor teams
  • Apply advanced engineering theories, principles, concepts, standards and methods to ensure work remains aligned with program objectives, schedules, costs, performance criteria and existing policies
  • Understanding of cloud-based systems, including management and projection of cost and performance, preferred
  • Experience supporting Agile software development environments, including SAFe Agile, CI/CD, DevSecOps, DevOps and Agile sprint planning methodologies, preferred
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills

Education/Training:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
Experience:
  • 10+ years of general experience
  • 5+ years working in the DoD sector
  • Experience reviewing Air Force system requirements documentation including SRDs, ICDs, CDDs, and CONOPs
  • Experience supporting technical engineering reviews, meetings and briefings
  • Experience in engineering and technical resources with either USAF command or control reporting systems, tactical radar, shelter and radome systems, aircraft trainer pods, radios and communication systems, EW systems or threat emitters depending on the specific branch needs
  • Air Force systems requirements analysis and management
  • Systems engineering support across the acquisition lifecycle
  • Technical baseline management and system-level test and evaluation
  • Risk management support in compliance with Air Force SEAM processes

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
  • Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
  • Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)

Salary:

The projected salary range for this position is $114,000 - $134,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation, rather actual salary will be based on experience, qualifications, and applicable certifications or degrees held. Offered salary may fall outside of this range.
