Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Indianapolis, IN for an on-site, permanent role. You will own the end-to-end systems engineering lifecycle from requirements to deployment, leading hardware architecture and embedding systems work with a cross-functional team.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years in aerospace/defense electronics, strong analog/digital design, and experience with high-performance processors, PCIe, and Ethernet interfaces.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 7–10 years of experience.
• Proven hardware architecture and design leadership, including thermal management.
• Strong analog and digital electronics, CPU boards, RF interfaces, and embedded systems.
• 5+ years in analog/digital board development and embedded systems.
• Experience with high‑performance processors, COM Express modules, GPUs, and I/O subsystems.
• Knowledge of PCIe, 1G/10G Ethernet, SPI, I2C, flash memory, and timing.
• Schematic capture/entry experience; Altium is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware architecture, design, and engineering, including modifications and thermal management.
• Define requirements and architecture for aerospace/defense systems.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, test, and manufacturing teams.
• Ensure processes support compliance in highly regulated environments.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join a growing aerospace and defense organization developing advanced, mission-critical products and systems. This position will play a key role in the end-to-end systems engineering lifecycle, from requirements definition and architecture through integration, verification, validation, and deployment.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in systems engineering within aerospace, defense, avionics, or other highly regulated environments and is comfortable working cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, software, test, manufacturing, and program management teams.

Job Details

• Experience designing systems around high-performance processors, COM Express modules, GPUs, and I/O subsystems.
• Knowledge of interfaces and technologies including PCIe, 1G/10G Ethernet, SPI, I²C, flash memory, and clocking/synchronization systems.
• Experience with schematic capture/entry; Altium experience is a plus.
