Job summary

deciBel Research, Inc. is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL. The successful candidate will analyze requirements and high‑level architectures to develop system specifications and lead design and development activities.

You will provide technical leadership for integration, develop architecture and design documentation, and prepare SE management and test plans. A Bachelor’s in a technical field and 15+ years of experience, along with an active Secret clearance, are required.

deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL.

Position Description:

The successful candidate will analyze user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications. Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities. Guide users in formulating requirements, advise on alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies. Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. Develop technical documentation. Develop system Architecture and system design documentation. Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Interact with the Product Team regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations. Hold ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field

Experience Requirements:

• 15 years of experience
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Experience with MBSE- CAMEO, DOORS, etc.
• Experience in the use of Atlassian tools
• Automated CI/CD Pipeline configuration experience, including setup, scripting, configuration and maintenance
• Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance required
• Experience with JIRA/Confluence
• Experience with safety critical and nuclear critical software development (DO-178C, AFMAN 91-119, DO-330, etc.)
• Familiarity with a structured process driven software development environment including peer reviews of all work products, using a revision control system, defect tracking and building release practices required
• Experience with Git products
