GE Vernova seeks a seasoned Systems Engineer to advance wind turbine projects, driving design changes, reliability improvements, and cost reductions across programs. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 5 years of significant experience in Engineering/Technology.
  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience working on wind turbine system and/or services related projects.

Responsibilities

  • Execute design/turbine operation changes to eliminate causes of turbine forced outages in warranty and core fleets.
  • Identify and develop programs to reduce downtime and return units to service.
  • Guide optimal design decisions with Program Management and Product Line for current and new products.
  • Lead technical program teams on system trade-offs and cost-focused optimizations.
  • Present technical analyses and recommendations to internal and external audiences.
  • Manage Services investments from pre-concept through design, validation and launch.
  • Contribute to the Multigeneration Engineering Plan for Services to improve operations.

Job Description

Systems engineering is a cross‑functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities consider both the business and technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users’ needs. The discipline executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs, and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. The process proceeds from concept to production to operation. It impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. It impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. It has significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has significant autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Responsible for execution of design/turbine operation changes to eliminate causes of turbine forced outages in warranty fleet and core fleet
  • Identify and develop programs to drive down time to return units to service
  • Partner with Program Management and Product Line to guide optimal design decisions for current products, new products, and commercial deals to achieve business objectives
  • Lead technical program teams on system trade‑offs and optimizations with a focus on the reduction of Services costs through elimination of forced outages
  • Communicate and provide recommendations through analysis, preparation and presentation of technical material to internal and external audiences
  • Lead Services investments from pre‑conceptual design work through design, validation and launch, prioritizing and managing risks on safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Contribute to development of the Multigeneration Engineering Plan for Services, focused on improving operations through reliability and cost
  • Effectively manage program requirements and requirement flow down to optimize product offering and competitiveness
  • Work with Systems Leaders to leverage lessons learned, best practices, process improvements and standard work
  • Support and improve the availability and serviceability of existing wind turbine fleet
  • Contribute to new and existing design practices
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of significant experience in Engineering/Technology
  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience working on wind turbine system and/or services related projects

Benefits and Compensation

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $113,200.00 and $188,800.00. The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
