Job description

Design, develop, test, debug, and implement systems software
Determine systems software design requirements
Ensure system improvements are successfully implemented and monitored to increase efficiency
Generate systems software engineering policies, standards, and procedures
Participate in software development from detailed programming to high-level system design
Take responsibility for overall systems infrastructure, including engineering, implementation and integration, and technical services and support
Design, implement, install, maintain, and administer infrastructure, including hardware, software, and configurations
Monitor overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune systems appropriately
Perform root cause analysis on failed components and implement corrective measures
Establish and improve processes and procedures with colleagues
Own projects and participate in disaster recovery exercises

Requirements

Associate's Degree and 5–7 years' experience
Engineering degree required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Technical expertise
Analytical thinking skills
Problem-solving skills
Ability to remain stationary at a desk and/or computer for extended periods
Regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities
Ability to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery
Up to 25% travel likely
