Job summary

FOX News Media is seeking a Senior Systems Design Engineer to oversee planning, execution, and delivery of advanced broadcast infrastructure projects. You will lead complex initiatives from concept to completion, aligning with stakeholders and budgets.

The role requires experience in broadcast/A/V systems integration, PMP certification, and strong communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical audiences. A degree in engineering or CS is expected.

Qualifications

• 3+ years leading technical projects in broadcast, A/V or media tech
• PMP or equivalent certification required
• Strong understanding of routing, signal flow, networking and storage
• Excellent verbal and written communication; can explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Proficient with project management tools (Smartsheet, AutoCAD, Jira)
• Experience with IP-based broadcast solutions (SMPTE 2110, NDI)
• Familiarity with cloud media workflows (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, or related field

Responsibilities

• Create and manage project scopes, goals, deliverables, schedules, and resource plans
• Coordinate internal engineering teams, external vendors, contractors, and client stakeholders

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Systems Design Engineer to oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of our cutting-edge broadcast infrastructure and technology projects.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITES

• Lead and manage the entire project lifecycle for broadcast systems installations, upgrades, and migrations (e.g., control rooms, studios & technical spaces).

• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource allocation models.

• Coordinate and manage internal engineering teams, external vendors, contractors, and client stakeholders.

• Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and identify/mitigate potential risks and issues to ensure on-time and on‑budget delivery.

• Maintain detailed project documentation, including specifications, change orders, status reports, and final handover documentation.

• Possess a working knowledge of modern broadcast technologies (e.g., IP video/SMPTE 2110, cloud-based systems, baseband infrastructure, asset management).

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Experience managing technical projects, with at least 3 years specifically focused on broadcast, A/V, or media technology systems integration.

• PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification.

• Strong understanding of core broadcast and IT infrastructure concepts (e.g., routing, signal flow, networking, storage).

• Exceptional verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Expert proficiency with project management software (e.g., Smartsheet, AutoCAD, Jira) and standard office productivity tools.

• Experience with IP-based broadcast solutions (SMPTE 2110, NDI, etc.).

• Familiarity with cloud media workflows (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $114,000.00-160,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
