FOX News is seeking a Senior Field Engineer to lead Special events and project-based assignments as an EIC, supporting live news, special events, and breaking coverage across remote and studio environments.
You will coordinate technical installations, maintain broadcast equipment, and collaborate with engineering, production, operations and vendors to ensure reliable transmission and high-quality production across satellite, fiber, IP, and hybrid setups.
OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY
FOX News is looking for a Senior Field Engineer to join our Field & Bureau Engineering team. In this role, you will lead Special events and Project based assignments as an EIC, while supporting the engineering operations that power live news, special events, and breaking news coverage. This role combines broadcast engineering expertise with project management to ensure reliable, high-quality transmission and production and technical operations across remote and studio environments. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong technical knowledge of broadcast systems, satellite and IP transmission, and live production workflows. You will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, operations, and external vendors to deliver projects efficiently while maintaining high operational excellence.
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair broadcast, streaming, audio, and video equipment supporting live and remote productions
Coordinate technical installations and upgrades, and help evaluate new transmission and encoding systems
Create and maintain technical documentation, including engineering standards, operational procedures, system diagrams, and project records
Support live news, breaking news, and special event coverage by ensuring reliable transmission across satellite, fiber, IP, remote, and studio environments
Operate and maintain the Satellite News Vehicle
Safely operate company-owned and rental vehicles
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience
Experience in broadcast engineering, live television production, or a related technical field
Strong knowledge of broadcast equipment, audio/video systems, and satellite, fiber, IP, and streaming technologies
Experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting broadcast equipment
EIC experience, including coordinating technical installations and working with vendors
Ability to support live news, remote productions, and breaking news coverage in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work well under pressure
Experience working collaboratively with engineering, production, and operations teams
Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed
Valid driver's license and ability to operate company and rental vehicles

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $54.75-72.26 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
