Job summary

Leidos Defense seeks a Principal Systems Engineer / Technical Program Manager to lead high-performance DoD initiatives across multi-contractor teams. You will shape architectures, manage risk, and guide programs from concept through production in challenging environments.

You will collaborate with government stakeholders, coordinate IPTs, and ensure traceability and cost/schedule performance using MBSE and EVMS practices. U.S. citizenship and travel 10–20% are required.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.
• Bachelor’s degree in ABET accredited Engineering with 12+ years in systems engineering/technical program management, or a Master’s with 10+ years.
• Experience defining complex problem spaces and managing cost, schedule, and performance for defense platforms.
• Knowledge of systems engineering best practices, risk management, EVMS, and requirements traceability.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and coordinating with government personnel.

Responsibilities

• Define problem spaces and mission requirements with government customers for high-speed atmospheric systems.
• Lead system architecture across multi-contractor environments and drive technical consensus.
• Oversee lifecycle from concept to production, ensuring schedule and technical performance.
• Resolve interface gaps and misalignments to maintain program momentum.
• Direct IPTs and host technical interchange meetings with government and contractors.
• Collaborate with CAMs to establish baselines, WBS, and change management to prevent scope creep.
