Job summary

Cyntel Technologies in Fort Meade, MD is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to ensure the reliable operation of complex IT systems, including multi-user servers, LAN/WAN security, and directory services. The role demands active TS/SCI clearance and hands-on experience with VMware, Windows Server, Linux, and security policies.

You will design, deploy, and maintain systems, manage access and security, and collaborate on projects with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT with 8 years related experience.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a System Administrator.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience with VMware utilization technologies.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with Microsoft System Administration (GPOs, DHCP, DNS, AD).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with SAN storage.
• Knowledge of Linux system administration including lodging.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Server 2012 System Administration and Troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of IT security essentials and security administration.
• Information Assurance DoD 85701-M Certification.
• VMware Certified Professional Certification.
• Must have Security+ certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintain LAN/WAN policies and security for networks.
• Design and monitor new complex systems.
• Configure and install system hardware/software; maintain server and domain security.
• Troubleshoot complex networking and administration issues with Network Administrators.
• Plan installation of new/modified hardware, OS, and applications.
• Manage accounts, network rights, access, and security procedures.
• Resolve hardware/software interface problems.
• Ensure systems availability, functionality, integrity and efficiency.
• Maintain system configuration and apply fixes/upgrades.
• Perform feasibility studies on complex information systems.
• Participate in management meetings and special projects
