Job summary

Boston University Information Services & Technology (IS&T) is seeking a Systems Administrator III to manage and maintain server operating systems, hypervisors, storage, and related hardware and software, ensuring reliability and security of enterprise IT systems. You will lead projects and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities include on-call support, production readiness, and helping with business continuity tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with server operating systems, hypervisors, storage, and related hardware and software.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and recommend new technology to improve IT resource performance and reliability.
• Install, test, and transition server OS, hypervisors, and storage into production; apply upgrades.
• Provide off-hours on-call support and Level 2 Help Desk assistance; support DR testing.
• Coordinate with vendors on resolutions; understand contracts and escalate as required.
• Support Engineering in defining and reporting availability, capacity, alert, and service-level metrics.
• Coach and mentor junior technical staff.
