Job summary

GuideIT, a US-based technology services company, seeks a Senior System Administrator to manage server and cloud infrastructure with emphasis on Windows Server, Active Directory, AWS, Azure, and Microsoft 365 workloads.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on experience, strong scripting skills, ITIL familiarity, and the ability to work in a US-based remote/hybrid setup. Responsibilities include on-call support, environment deployments, and security collaborations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on system administration in enterprise or managed services.
• Expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, MFA.
• Experience administering AWS infrastructure with Azure exposure.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 workloads including Exchange Online and Teams.
• Strong networking knowledge and VPN expertise; familiarity with routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Scripting proficiency with PowerShell or similar tools to automate tasks.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware vSphere or Hyper-V).
• ITIL familiarity and maintaining compliance in regulated environments.
• Ability to manage and resolve tickets promptly using a tracking system.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; willing to be on-call.
• Authorized to work in the US; occasional travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support server and cloud infrastructure as directed.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain infrastructure and platform services.
• Monitor system performance to ensure availability and reliability.
• Perform maintenance, patches, and security baselines across on-prem and cloud estates.
• Automate recurring tasks using scripting and IaC tooling.
• Collaborate with security to implement posture controls and tooling.
• Provide escalation-level support within strict SLA windows.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to runbooks and knowledge base.
