Job summary

GCI seeks a Systems Administrator to manage and optimize enterprise infrastructure across storage, virtualization, and cloud environments. The role emphasizes hands-on NetApp and VMware expertise, plus automation using Ansible and Bash to support patching, configuration, and accreditation.

Applicants should have a BS in CS/IT/CE or related field and 3+ years of experience managing complex infrastructure. Strong PKI and LDAP skills, plus IaC (Terraform) and container tooling, are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience administering complex infrastructure including storage, virtualization, and cloud.
• Hands-on automation and scripting to support patching, configuration, and accreditation.
• Proficiency with NetApp storage and VMware virtualization in enterprise settings.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain NetApp storage systems for performance and availability.
• Manage VMWare virtualization infrastructure (vSphere/ESXi).
• Execute hardware patching and maintenance across enterprise systems.
• Develop Ansible scripts for configuration management and automation.
• Create Bash scripts for admin tasks and operational efficiency.
• Automate patching and maintenance of OS and cloud infrastructure.
• Maintain PKI and X.509 certificate lifecycle; administer LDAP services.
• Support system accreditation processes and compliance documentation.
• Monitor performance and coordinate planned maintenance windows.
• Document configuration, procedures, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
