Job summary

Chris-Leef General Agency is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator in Shawnee, KS to own daily IT operations, maintain security, and lead infrastructure projects. The role supports Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, and network services in a small-mid sized business environment.

You will work with the IT Manager to strengthen controls, implement migrations, and drive timely problem-solving. Strong communication and urgency are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, Network Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of progressive systems administration and IT operations work.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 and cloud services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint/OneDrive, Azure/Entra IDs.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file permissions, and core MS infrastructure.
• Experience with virtualization (Hyper-V or VMware) and with firewall/switch/VPN networks.
• Experience supporting endpoint management, patching, remote monitoring, endpoint security, and device lifecycle processes.
• Experience with backup administration and disaster recovery concepts.
• Willingness to participate in off-hours maintenance when required.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain core IT infrastructure including Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra, Windows Server, AD, DNS, DHCP, file services.
• Own day-to-day infrastructure operations: monitoring, patching, troubleshooting, change planning, documentation.
• Lead escalated help desk and end-user support and coach other IT staff.
• Manage endpoints, devices, and security configurations; monitor lifecycle and deployment.
• Maintain identity and access controls across users, devices, apps, and cloud services.
• Support network infrastructure: firewalls, switches, wireless, VPN, VLANs, routing, monitoring.
• Oversee backup, DR, and business continuity processes, with testing and validation.
• Coordinate with vendors and partners to resolve issues and maintain service delivery.
• Maintain accurate technical docs, runbooks, and asset records for audits and reviews.
