Job summary

GalaxEsystems is seeking a System Administrator II to join our on-site IT team in the Northwest San Antonio area. The role focuses on maintaining high availability, security, and performance of servers and networks across multiple office sites in San Antonio, Dallas, and Houston.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience, strong Windows Server and virtualization expertise, Azure/Intune familiarity, scripting skills, and a proactive approach to incident response and documentation.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Proficiency with Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Windows Desktop (10/11); MacOS and Linux (Ubuntu) a plus.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and maintain desktop OSes, servers, and virtual environments (VMware).
Manage networks hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and VoIP support.
Design, deploy, and support Azure environments; monitor system performance.
Monitor systems, analyze logs, and tune performance to prevent downtime.
Ensure security through access controls, AD/Azure AD, antivirus, and patching.
