Job summary

S2i2, Inc. seeks a Senior Systems Administrator to lead Enterprise Windows Administration Support Services (EWASS). The role includes on-site operations at Richmond, VA, Ft. Belvoir, VA, and other sites, with strong leadership in security, patching, and AD management.

Requires 10+ years in IT, 4+ years hands-on Windows admin, DoD 8570 IAT II/III certifications, and a relevant technical degree. On-site schedule M-F with active clearance (Secret/Top-Secret/TS-SCI) and salary $100k-$115k.

Qualifications

• Minimum ten (10) years of progressive IT experience in Information Processing, including a range of hardware and software solutions.
• At least four (4) years of direct, hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting software.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering)
• DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification at IAT Level II or III – one of the listed certifications.
• Nationally recognized technical authority certifications listed (e.g., Microsoft Azure, CISSP, CISA, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Oversee stability, security, and performance of DLA Windows systems and network connections.
• Plan, install, configure, maintain, and optimize network software and communication links.
• Organize and manage information systems, resolve end-user issues, and analyze capacity and performance.
• Drive automation, process refinement, and training to improve team efficiency.
• Mentor and lead system administrators to ensure operational excellence.
• Lead vulnerability management initiatives and apply advanced networking knowledge.
• Lead daily Windows Server administration across NIPR and SIPR, on-premises and cloud.
• Patching, STIG/ACAS remediation, AD/GP management, monitoring, PowerShell automation.

Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Join a high-impact team responsible for optimizing and securing the Defense Logistics Agency's enterprise Windows environments. As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will lead daily operations, drive process improvements, and help shape the future of DLA's mission-critical IT infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the stability, security, and performance of DLA's Windows systems and network connections.
• Plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, and optimize network software and communication links.
• Organize and manage information management systems, resolve end-user software and connectivity issues, and conduct capacity and performance analysis with actionable recommendations.
• Drive team efficiency through automation, process refinement, and targeted training. Provide comprehensive support for operational systems, including maintenance, upgrades, and new installations across multiple locations.
• Mentor and lead system administrators, optimizing system resources and user support.
• Apply advanced knowledge of application networking, load balancing, and fault tolerance while spearheading vulnerability management initiatives.
• Lead daily Windows Server administration across NIPR and SIPR networks - both on-premises and on-the cloud.
• Responsibilities include; patching, STIG and ACAS remediation, Active Directory and Group Policy management, performance monitoring, PowerShell automation, and vulnerability management. Supervise and mentor a team of system administrators to ensure operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

Minimum ten (10) years of progressive, specialized IT experience in Information Processing, including a range of hardware and software solutions

Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority – One (1) of the Following:
