G&W Electric Co. seeks a Sr Systems Administrator to own the enterprise Windows and Linux server environments, virtualization, backup, and security. You will develop standards, roadmaps, and lead infrastructure projects from planning to operation, coordinating with cybersecurity and IT teams to ensure secure, reliable systems.

The role is on-site in Romeoville, IL, with opportunities to influence infrastructure strategy and drive continuous improvement across the environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in enterprise systems administration or related role.
• Advanced Windows Server and core infra services experience.
• Linux server administration experience.
• Experience with virtualization, storage, backup, DR technologies.
• Strong AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, privileged access knowledge.
• PowerShell or automation experience to improve ops.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis.
• Experience planning/executing infrastructure projects.
• Strong documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows and Linux servers and infra services.
• Manage enterprise virtualization and hyperconverged infrastructure lifecycle and upgrades.
• Administer backup and recovery platforms and ensure DR alignment.
• Develop, test, and maintain backup, DR, and resiliency processes.
• Handle service accounts, security, credential management, and access reviews.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and perform root-cause analysis.
• Develop infrastructure strategies, roadmaps, and technical docs.
• Lead projects from requirements through design, implementation, and support.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity to maintain secure configurations and compliance.
