Job summary

Aether Aerospace is seeking a Systems Administrator to support a major NAVAIR program office at Patuxent River, MD. The senior team member will review and document information releases to international participants and mentor the Foreign Disclosure team.

The role requires 5+ years in systems administration, RMF/STIG experience, and DoD-compliant security posture. Expect on-site work with Linux/Windows environments and Agile collaboration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Systems Administration experience.
• RMF compliance experience is a must (STIG execution).
• CompTIA Sec+ certification.
• Windows or Linux OS certification.
• VMware, Virtual Networking, System Backups, Networking, Containers and Active Directory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering solutions for government software hosting facilities.
• Deploy and maintain physical and virtual hardware infrastructure including VMs and containers.
• Perform routine maintenance and configuration changes on hosts.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot servers, workstations, and IT equipment.
• Maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.
• Manage user accounts and permissions.
• Deploy and maintain software applications.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide guidance/best-practices.
• Secure information systems per DoD guidance and monitor security events.
• Document configurations, incidents, and knowledge base materials.
• Provide customer support across the program; participate in Agile planning.
• Provide on-prem networking support and understanding of Linux.
