Job summary

Aether Aerospace is seeking a Systems Administrator to support a major NAVAIR program office in Patuxent River, MD. The candidate will provide analysis and high‑level support as the senior member of the Foreign Disclosure team, reviewing and documenting release of information to international participants.

Key duties include deploying and maintaining hardware and software, ensuring backups and disaster recovery, enforcing DoD security posture, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret.
• Minimum of 5 years of Systems Administration experience.
• RMF compliance experience with STIG execution.
• CompTIA Sec+ certification.
• Windows or Linux OS certification.
• Experience with VMware, virtual networking, backups, and AD.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering solutions for government software hosting facilities.
• Deploy and maintain hardware and virtual infrastructure including VMs/containers.
• Perform routine maintenance and configuration changes on hosts.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot servers, workstations, and IT equipment.
• Maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans.
• Manage user accounts and permissions.
• Deploy and maintain software applications and support customers.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and maintain documentation.
• Maintain security posture and conduct DoD-aligned monitoring.
• Participate in Agile project planning and provide networking support.
• Understand Linux OS and virtual networking.
