Horizon Industries is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to ensure the stable operation of our remote IT infrastructure supporting government development activities. The role emphasizes planning, configuring, maintaining, and upgrading complex systems, with a focus on automation, security, and fault tolerance.

Ideal candidates will hold a BS/BA in a technical field, have a DoW IAT Level I certification, and possess 10+ years of hands-on experience.

• Ten years specialized experience in information processing and system administration across hardware/software
• BS or BA in technical discipline is required
• 8570/8140: DoW Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level I
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect- Associate or Certified MuleSoft Associate within 3 months after onboarding start date

• Ensure stable operation of in-house software systems and network connections; plan, develop, install, configure, maintain, support, and optimize network software and communication links.
• Organize and direct configuration and operation of information management systems; analyze and resolve end-user software issues.
• Conduct capacity and performance analysis; provide system configuration change and upgrade recommendations.
• Increase administrator efficiency via automated tools and scripts; develop procedures and conduct training and skills assessment.
• Provide end-user training and recommendations on technology direction; support remote maintenance across multiple locations; install servers and applications.

• Apply advanced knowledge of application networking, including load balancing and fault tolerance; perform vulnerability management.

Ensures the stable operation of the in-house computer software systems and network connections. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software and communication links. Organizes and directs the configuration and operation of information management systems. Analyzes and resolves end user software program and connectivity issues.

Conducts capacity and performance analysis and provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations. Increases system administrator efficiency and accuracy via the use of automated tools and scripts, develops system administrator procedures, and conducts system administrator training and skills assessment. Provides end user training. Provides recommendations on technology direction to align with business vision. Provides local and remote maintenance support to various operational systems deployed at more than one location. Support includes general maintenance, upgrades, and new installs of servers and applications. Directs the work of other system administrators to provide the day-to-day system administration to include system and resource optimization, and user assistance. Applies advanced technical knowledge of application networking, including load balancing applications, and ensuring fault tolerance. Performs vulnerability management.

• Ten (10) years specialized experience (Specialized experience is defined as progressive experience in the field of Information Processing, where the majority are specialized in numerous specialized Information Processing disciplines involving a range of hardware/software solutions, at least four years of which are concentrated, hand-on experience in installing, configuring, maintaining, and resolving issues with various software).

Required Skills:

• Certification: Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority
• Education: BS or BA in technical discipline
• 8570/8140: DoW Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level I
• Computing Environment: AWS Certified Solutions Architect-Associate or Certified MuleSoft Associate Certification within 3 months after onboarding start date.

This position is performed in a 100% remote, collaborative environment supporting government development activities. The employee will work closely with Task Order Project Manager, Requirements Analysts, Scrum Master, Developers, Testers, and Government stakeholders through virtual meetings and Agile ceremonies. Employees must maintain a secure remote workspace, use government-approved systems and security controls, and comply with all cybersecurity and data protection requirements, including Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Regular availability during standard business hours is required to support team collaboration, customer meetings, and project deliverables.
