Job summary

Peraton is seeking a systems engineer in Herndon, VA to monitor and troubleshoot complex IT infrastructure, manage large clusters (>400 nodes), and support Linux-based hardware and containerized applications. The role requires TS/SCI with Polygraph, Security+ certification, and on-site availability.

Responsibilities include security compliance, scripting, patching, and user account administration, with after-hours on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or Master’s with 3+ years; additional 4 years of experience may substitute for degree
• Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph required
• Active Security+ Certification required
• Experience with AWS
• Experience with large clusters (>400 nodes) and containerized apps
• Experience with Linux-based hardware
• Experience with OpenSource (NoSQL) products
• Onsite full-time, no remote or hybrid schedule

Responsibilities

• Monitor system health and troubleshoot problems
• Maintain storage systems and interface with hardware/network/infrastructure teams
• Provide after-hours on-call support on a rotation basis
• Ensure system security requirements are satisfied
• Create and maintain system scripts; patch and upgrade systems
• Administer user accounts
