Job summary

The Arizona Humane Society is seeking a full-time Senior Systems Administrator to power the technology supporting our life-saving mission. You will plan, install, upgrade, monitor, and maintain servers, virtualization, storage, networking, and Microsoft 365 to ensure reliable and secure operations across campuses.

You will troubleshoot hardware/software issues, manage security updates and disaster recovery, maintain IT documentation, and support end users.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in an information technology area or equivalent experience required.
• 5 years of systems administration and network administration experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows server and desktop operating systems.
• Active Directory/LDAP user and group policy administration.
• Managing servers' virtualization technologies like VMWare, Microsoft Hyper‑V, or AZURE.
• Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN Routing and Switching administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• 1-2 years of Microsoft O365 administration and configuration experience.
• Experience with VOIP phone systems.
• 1-2 years of AZURE administration experience preferred.
• Must possess good communication skills and can relate well with employees at all levels.

Responsibilities

• As the Senior Systems Administrator, you will maintain and enhance the technology infrastructure supporting our mission.
• Plan, install, upgrade, monitor, and maintain servers, virtualization, storage, networking, Microsoft 365, VoIP, security systems, and business applications.
• Provide advanced technical support by troubleshooting hardware and software issues and managing security updates and DR processes.
• Maintain IT documentation and asset inventories; support end users across multiple campuses.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies and assist with infrastructure projects.

Day in the Life:

As the Senior Systems Administrator, you will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the technology infrastructure that supports the Arizona Humane Society's life-saving mission. You will be responsible for planning, installing, upgrading, monitoring, and maintaining servers, virtualization, storage, networking, Microsoft 365, VoIP, security systems, backups, and business applications to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient operations across the organization.

In this role, you'll provide advanced technical support by troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing security updates and disaster recovery processes, maintaining IT documentation and asset inventories, and supporting end users across multiple campuses. You'll also participate in an on‑call rotation for after‑hours emergencies, assist with infrastructure projects, and help implement technology solutions that keep our teams connected and our mission moving forward.

Job Requirements:

• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in an information technology area or equivalent experience required.
• CCNA or CompTIA Network+ preferred.
• 5 years of systems administration and network administration experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows server and desktop operating systems.
• Active Directory/LDAP user and group policy administration.
• Managing servers' virtualization technologies like VMWare, Microsoft Hyper‑V, or AZURE.
• Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN Routing and Switching administration, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• 1-2 years of Microsoft O365 administration and configuration experience.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
