Job summary

iconectiv is seeking a Senior System Administrator to provide maintenance and support for the enterprise environment within our Operations team. You will oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network systems across data centers.

The role requires hands-on experience with VMware, Linux, Windows, Solaris, and strong problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, familiarity with Oracle, Dell

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technology related field required.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience.
• Demonstrated Solaris, VMware, Windows and Linux system administration expertise.
• Familiarity with federated services, single sign on solutions, and O365 hosted applications.
• Strong Active Directory experience required, particularly integrating with other identity providers (IAM, Okta, etc.).
• Programming: Proficiency with Linux/Unix Shell Scripting Programming (Python).
• Demonstrated experience with common server applications: VMware, Oracle, Windows.
• Communication: TCP/IP, UDP, TCAP, SNMP, Networking is a plus.
• Previous operations center experience: technical troubleshooting, customer support, monitoring systems and ticket/incident management, resolution, and escalation processes.
• Knowledge of IT service operations and management; customer care and technical support in IT environments.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform post-mortem and root cause analyses for service-impacting issues.
• Write and test MOPs for system administration practices.
• Adhere to standard M&P and protocols; develop technical documentation.
• Available for off-hours maintenance and on-site data center support.

Job description

The Senior System Administrator role provides system administration maintenance and support for the iconectiv enterprise environment. The Senior System Administrator is a crucial member of our Operations team and is responsible for overseeing the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network systems.

Requirements:

This position has the following responsibilities:

• Provide overall system administration maintenance and support for various internal service platforms.
• Relevant Oracle, Dell and HP compute and storage hardware familiarity.
• Install – rack, stack, and cable new equipment hardware builds or equipment replacements in our data centers.
• Perform OS (VMware, Linux, Solaris, Windows) equipment installation and configurations for new builds and equipment replacements.
• Perform OS (VMware, Linux, Solaris, Windows) and application back-ups for systems.
• Resolution of platform system issues and alarms.
• Trace data collection, log file analysis for network/application/middleware devices; service/system trouble correlation and general problem troubleshooting.
• Incident Management - Perform troubleshooting triage with multiple teams, investigations and mitigation/remediations of trouble tickets.
• Perform post-mortem and root cause analysis for service impacting issues and generate Root Cause Analysis reports.
• Cron jobs and file system maintenance.
• Change Management - Write and test MOPs (Method of Procedures) for common and complex system administration and operations practices.
• Strictly adhere to standard Methods and Procedures (M&P) and Protocols defined for Operations Center personnel.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation required to support the platform.
• Must be available to work off-hours maintenance activities, as needed and required.
• Must be willing to perform data center support activities on-site, both on and off hours, as needed and required.

**Hybrid employees must live within 75 miles of the iconectiv office in Bridgewater, New Jersey, which is the in-person office location where the employee will report when working in-person

Additional Skills:
