Job summary

Progressive IT seeks an experienced Systems Administrator to manage enterprise Windows/Linux infrastructure, virtualization, security, and cloud services. You will troubleshoot complex issues, perform server patching and hardening, automate tasks with PowerShell, and support migrations and DR planning.

Responsibilities include managing AD/GP/DNS/DHCP, VMware or Hyper-V, CrowdStrike, and documenting system diagrams and SOPs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of systems administration or infrastructure engineering experience.
• Advanced Windows Server administration: Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file services.
• VMware vSphere/ESXi or Hyper-V virtualization.
• Linux administration in mixed environments.
• TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, certificates; network troubleshooting.
• Server hardening, patch management, vulnerability remediation, privileged access, cybersecurity best practices.
• PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Infrastructure monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, performance troubleshooting, root cause analysis.
• Leading server migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and hardware refresh projects.
• Documentation: SOPs, diagrams, build standards, disaster recovery procedures.
• Strong communication and mentoring across networking, security, engineering, and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows Server environments, VMware virtualization, AD, GP, and DNS/DHCP.
• Deploy and manage CrowdStrike endpoint security agents.
• Patch, harden, remediate vulnerabilities and monitor performance.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues; perform root-cause analysis as escalation resource.
• Automate tasks with PowerShell and scripting tools.
• Support migrations, upgrades, storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Maintain technical docs and collaborate across teams.
