Job summary

Northrop Grumman – Xetron in Cincinnati, OH seeks a cleared or clearable System & Software Engineering Manager 2. You will manage a high‑performing software team and lead SEIT activities across programs, ensuring system engineering, integration and test meet contract requirements and customer needs.

The role combines people leadership (~20%) with technical leadership (~80%), offers a 9/80 schedule, and a salary range of $146,500 to $219,700 with potential bonuses and typical benefits.

Qualifications

• BS + 8 years engineering experience, MS + 6 years engineering experience, or a PhD + 3 years engineering experience
• Experience in engineering management, program management, and/or relevant leadership in the military
• Experience as a technical leader in a Systems Engineering or related field
• US Citizenship is required
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance (NG will sponsor)

Responsibilities

• Managing and guiding direct report software engineers
• Setting objectives for your team and monitoring progress
• Being responsible for workload management of direct reports
• Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring top engineering talent
• Providing timely feedback and conducting performance assessments
• Mentoring and career development for each team member
• Coordinating training and providing tools for development activities
• Leading the Systems Engineering, Integration and Test activities on program(s)
• Ensuring execution and integrity of all SEIT activities
• Coordinating program integration activities and overseeing verification and validation efforts
