Job summary

NVIDIA Corporation is seeking an expert System Software Engineer with a strong background in Linux systems programming and Slurm. This hybrid role blends software development, system fixes, and direct support across internal and customer environments.

The ideal candidate writes efficient C code, analyzes performance, and collaborates with Operations, Infrastructure, and Deployment to keep Slurm running reliably in production.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional experience in C development with a related degree
• Strong understanding of memory management, pointers, data structures, and algorithms
• Experience with debugging tools such as GDB and performance profiling
• Solid understanding of Linux kernel interfaces, system calls, and file systems including Automake
• Knowledge of software development lifecycles and agile methodologies; strong problem-solving skills
• Experience with containers and GPU technologies
• Curious, self-motivated, and eager to learn new technologies

Responsibilities

• Maintain, improve and optimize Slurm components in C; develop system-level and application-level code
• Debug and fix complex Slurm issues related to reliability and performance
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code adhering to industry standards
• Collaborate with Operations, Infrastructure, and Deployment teams
• Provide direct technical support to internal teams or external customers
• Develop automated tests to ensure software reliability and regression prevention
• Stay current with C programming, compilers, build systems and related technologies
