Job summary

Energetics Technology Center (ETC) is seeking a full-time Lead System Safety Engineer to own day-to-day safety planning and qualification support for warheads, fuzing, and energetic subsystems. This onsite role is based at ETC's Indian Head office in Maryland and involves coordinating with government customers and safety boards.

Responsibilities include developing the system safety plan, directing hazard analyses, maintaining safety evidence, and guiding design teams to resolve safety issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or closely related field; a master's is preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant system safety or ordnance safety experience; 10+ years with leadership preferred.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the program system safety plan and integrate hazard analyses and safety requirements.
• Direct hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation across design, test, and production.
• Coordinate safety test planning, verification, and acceptance criteria for government reviews.
