Job summary

Energetics Technology Center seeks a Warhead Engineer to support design, testing, and evaluation of warhead concepts for DoD customers. You will translate requirements into practical designs, analyze results, and document evidence for mature concepts.

This on-site role collaborates across materials, mechanical, systems safety, and test teams, with travel and occasional after-hours work as needed. A strong engineering background and security clearance are essential.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. Secret security clearance.
• Experience applying engineering fundamentals to mechanical design and energetic systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specs, and test plans.
• Experience with prototype development, integration, and testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to document findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support warhead, fuzing and energetic subsystem design activities and documentation.
• Develop drawings, specs, BOMs, test procedures, and data packages under leads.
• Build and evaluate prototype assemblies; coordinate inspection and safety reviews.
• Plan and execute laboratory and field tests; define objectives and data needs.
• Analyze test data and modeling results; recommend design changes.
• Coordinate with modeling, instrumentation, manufacturing, and safety teams.
• Document assumptions, tradeoffs, risks, and corrective actions for reviews.
